dc.description.abstractWe exploit difference equations to establish sharp inequalities on the extreme zeros of the classical discrete orthogonal polynomials, Charlier, Krawtchouk, Meixner and Hahn. We also provide lower bounds on the minimal distance between their consecutive zeros.en_US
