| Description: | Score in C (at sounding pitch). First performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales 17th February 2023 Hoddinott Hall, Cardiff, Wales Conducted by Matthew Coorey. The computer audio should blend with the orchestra so that it is part of the overall fabric of the piece. The video content should be presented on a large screen above the orchestra, with minimum signal latency between computer and projector. All audio and video is triggered by the keyboardist/pianist situated within the orchestra. It is envisaged that the keyboard is positioned to the right of the piano. A MIDI keyboard, a capable laptop, and the Hearing Places patches for Ableton Live 10+ (audio) and Max 8+ (video) are needed. The audio output should go via a monitor for the player to the main sound system to be mixed with the orchestra. The Hearing Place patches are available from the composer music@colinriley.co.uk. The patches were designed and programmed by Jeevan Rai.
