In Conversation—Performance, Dance and Political Economy: Bodies at the End of the World

The final dialogical exchange among the book’s contributors was a live group conversation, which took place on 23 March 2020. It aimed at furthering our previous exchanges and creating space for reflection on our writing and concerns until that point in time. To do this, Anita and I paired each essay with that of another contributor and asked that they prepare a three-mins oral response to it. These responses were to be shared with everyone at our group meeting and serve as starting points for wider discussion. (The responses were to each author’s second essay drafts—unlike the group meeting, these drafts preceded most of the Covid-19 lockdowns.) The pairing of the essays, resulting in six dialogical exchanges, was based on specific points by each author that made an impression on us and which we thought could dialogue in a fruitful manner with those of another author.
