| Abstract: | The problem of diffraction of a sound wave by a strip in a moving fluid is investigated. The sound source is a line source which is at a fixed finite distance from the strip. This system is in a moving subsonic fluid, and a vortex sheet is assumed to be attached to the trailing edge. The above problem is supposed to be a theoretical model for the situation when an engine is at a fixed distance and orientation above an aircraft wing, the aircraft being in flight. |
