Abstract: | A discussion of how non-lexical aspects of the text of Leslie Scalapino's poetic play "Flow" create meaning, and how this formed the basis of directing decisions for my production of the play. This includes layout on the page, columns, the use of empty space on the page, line length and so on, as well aspunctuation such as brackets of different kinds, italicisation, and the use of quotation marks. |
