| Abstract: | The purpose of this paper is to review a range of recently published literature on the subject of post-16 to university transition and the study of English. The literature is divided into four categories, addressing the following key issues: student and teacher expectations; curriculum and assessment; student study skills; student ‘location’ and pedagogy. The review explores current thinking and also identifies some key areas for further investigation. |
